At Oakbank Animal Hospital, we offer the most current advice on preventative health care, including the right vaccinations for your dog. Our veterinarians will work with you to put together the right vaccine program that is not only essential for your dog’s overall health but appropriate for your dog’s age, lifestyle and travel needs.
What types of vaccinations do you offer for adult dogs?
For adult dogs, we offer Canine Distemper, Parvovirus and Adenovirus as our core “combo” vaccine, as well as Rabies and Bordetella (kennel cough).
Is there a schedule for how often a dog should be vaccinated?
The Canine Distemper, Parvovirus, and Adenovirus combo vaccine requires yearly administration. The Rabies vaccine requires administration every 2-3 years. The Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine requires annual administration for at-risk patients. This schedule is for adult dogs who have received a complete initial puppy series.
Why is it important to vaccinate your dog?
Vaccinating your dog is not only important to maintain good health but also to reduce the spread of potentially life-threatening diseases. Recommendations will be made by your veterinarian depending on your dog’s lifestyle and travel needs.
