When I was a little girl, one of my favourite places to go was the dollar store. I’d beg my mom to let me take home the plastic dinosaurs, safari animals, or reptiles until she finally gave in. I would bring home injured birds, make little homes for bugs, and try to “rescue” the turtles I found while camping. I never wanted to play with anything else, but animals. As I got older, my interest turned into a passion. I volunteered for an animal hospital here in the city at age 12, spent free time collecting donations for rescues, and dedicated many school research projects to the understanding of species genetic make up, and behavior.
After graduating from high school, I attended the Robertson College, Veterinary Office Assistant program where I graduated with honors. My goal for the future is to one day attend the University of Saskatchewan to follow my dream of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I worked at one of our sister hospitals in Winnipeg for 2 years, prior to joining the team at Oakbank in the Spring of 2024
